DIY Simmer Pot Gift in a Jar
A Simple Homemade Gift That Smells Like the Holidays
Looking for an easy homemade gift that doesn't take hours to make? This DIY simmer pot gift combines orange, cinnamon, pine and warm spices in a mason jar for a simple, inexpensive holiday gift that's as pretty as it is fragrant.
What You'll Need
Your existing ingredients are fine: pine sprig, dehydrated orange slice, cinnamon stick, bay leaves, star anise and vanilla.
INGREDIENTS
1 pine sprig
1 dehydrated orange slice
1 cinnamon stick
2 bay leaves
2 star anise
A drop of vanilla extract
How to Assemble Your Simmer Pot Gift
Add the ingredients to a small mason jar, arranging the orange slice, cinnamon and star anise so they're visible through the glass. Tuck a small instruction card inside or attach it to the jar. For ours, we cut pieces from an inexpensive holiday garland and hot-glued them to the lid for an easy festive finish.
TO USE SIMMER POT
Empty the contents into a small saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a gentle simmer, adding more water as needed. Never leave a simmering pot unattended.
Feel free to experiment and make your own special blend! We tucked a little label with instructions inside the jar. For a festive touch, we bought some inexpensive garland, cut it up, scrunched it, and hot-glued it to the lid. Voila! Wishing you a wonderful holiday season!
