Apple Cider Bourbon Smash

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 ounces bourbon

  • 2 ounces fresh apple cider

  • ½ ounce lemon juice

  • ½ ounce maple syrup

  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters

  • Club soda to top

  • Apple slices and a cinnamon stick for garnis

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.

  2. Add the bourbon, apple cider, lemon juice, maple syrup, and bitters. Shake vigorously until chilled.

  3. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.

  4. Top with a splash of club soda.

  5. Garnish with a crisp apple slice and a cinnamon stick.

VARIATIONS:

  • Swap bourbon for spiced rum for a sweeter profile.

  • Add a sprig of rosemary to the shaker for an herbal note.

  • Warm it gently on the stovetop (without soda) for a cozy mulled version.
